Botanical description of the plant
Three-piece blackbird (ittikanak) - Bidens tripartita L .. astrados - belongs to the family Asteraceae. An annual herbaceous plant, reaching 15-60 (sometimes 100) cm in height. The stem is erect, hairless or sparsely hairy, branched opposite from the base. The leaf is simple, deeply incised into three segments, the lanceolate lanceolate, serrated-toothed edges, opposite the stem with a winged short band. The flowers are collected in a basket. The fruit is elongated, inverted ovate. It blooms from June to September, the fruits ripen in late September.
Medicinal properties
The product contains 28.3-61.26 mg% carotene, 748-953.3 mg% vitamin C, 0.16-0.18% essential oil, Up to 3.55% polyphenols, up to 3% polysaccharides, flavonoids (luteolin and its glucosides - cinaroside, etc.), coumarins, 4.3-6.8% additive, mucous, bitter and other substances. In folk medicine, preparations made from the product are used in sweets and some diathesis diseases that occur in children. Karakiz (ittikanak) herbal medicines are used in medicine for the treatment of gout, as well as as a diuretic and diaphoretic, improving digestion. The product is also used in the preparation of medicinal baths for some skin diseases (eczema, etc.) and pediatric diathesis. Medicines are used in the form of drops, decoctions.
Growing technology
Ittikanak plant is demanding to water, so it is recommended to plant it in soils with sufficient soil moisture Sowing is carried out in late autumn or early spring. In spring sowing the seeds are stratified. In this case, the seeds are mixed with 2 times more moist soil and stored at 0 C for 2-3 months. Organic and potassium fertilizers must be applied to the soil 1 day before sowing. Row spacing is taken to be 45-60 cm. The depth is 1.5-2 cm. Weeds begin to appear 2 weeks after sowing, which is important for the timely removal of weeds. They cause slow growth of the plant. The development of seeded grasses is slow during the first 2 months. It is necessary to control that the soil is not dehydrated during this period. Then watering is carried out every 2 weeks.
