 On March 5, 2026, Khazratov Abbos Tulkin Ugli, an employee of the Biotechnology Laboratory of the academician F.N. Rusanov Tashkent Botanical Garden of the Institute of Botany, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited the E.Z. Gareev Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (BS NAS KR).

The botanical garden was established in March 1938 (architects I. Vykhodtsev and E. Nikitin). In 1964, the Botanical Garden was granted the status of a scientific research institute. Currently, the garden includes four scientific laboratories: the Laboratory of Trees and Shrubs, the Laboratory of Ornamental Plants, the Laboratory of Fruit Plant Biology, and the Laboratory of Plant Stress Physiology.

The Botanical Garden contains more than 2,500 species and forms of trees and shrubs, more than 3,500 ornamental, greenhouse, and herbaceous plants, as well as more than 8,000 new forms and cultivars of fruit plants. In terms of species richness, the Botanical Garden occupies one of the leading positions in Central Asia and represents one of the largest botanical collections in the CIS region. The garden is a member of the International Association of Botanic Gardens (IABG).

During the visit, meetings were held with leading researchers of the E.Z. Gareev Botanical Garden. The visit included a tour of the greenhouse complex, dendrological sections, and exhibition collections of the botanical garden. Issues related to plant conservation, introduction, propagation, and the exchange of scientific experience were also discussed.

As a result of the visit, seeds and plant seedlings were exchanged to enrich the collections of the F.N. Rusanov Tashkent Botanical Garden. The parties agreed to further develop scientific cooperation in the fields of plant genetic resource conservation, expansion of botanical collections, and implementation of joint scientific research.
