It grows in the Tien Shan Mountains in Europe, North America, East and Central Asia.
Perennial plant. The rhizome is 12 cm long and consists of numerous long and slender roots. Stems erect, 30-90 cm long, ovate leaves, small oval flowers, brown nuts.
It is used in hemostasis, dysentery, gastrointestinal diseases, gastric ulcers, stomatitis and gynecological diseases.
In open areas where it is moist, humus, irrigable, there should be soil with organic additives.
