TASHKENT BOTANICAL GARDEN – GLOBAL ALLIUM GARDEN - ONION VARIETIES

Allium atroviolaceum Boiss. — Black-yellow onion

The bulb is ovoid-spherical, 1.5-2.5 cm thick. The stem is 60-100 cm. Distributed in the Western Tien Shan, Pre-Tashkent and Orta-Syr Darya districts.

Allium caesium Schrenk — Kokmomy onion

The bulb is ovoid, 10-15 mm in diameter, the outer skin is leathery, gray. The stem is 15-65 cm. The number of leaves is 2-3. Distributed in the Western Tien Shan, Nurota, Kohistang, and Western Hissar districts.
