On June 13, 2026, the Tashkent Botanical Garden named after Academician F.N. Rusanov under the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a cultural and sports event entitled “Science and Sport Are the Two Wings of Humanity”, bringing together young scientists, researchers, employees, and their family members from institutions of the Academy of Sciences.
The event was jointly organized by the United Trade Union Committee of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent Botanical Garden named after Academician F.N. Rusanov, the Botanical Garden Trade Union Committee, and the trade union organizations of research institutions within the Academy of Sciences system.
The main objective of the event was to promote a healthy lifestyle among researchers and employees, strengthen cooperation and friendship among scientific institutions, support family values, and provide meaningful recreational activities for children.
During the opening ceremony, participants were welcomed by Sodikjon Kholiknazarovich Abdinazarov, Director of the Tashkent Botanical Garden, and Sherzod Sultanbayevich Juraev, Chairman of the United Trade Union Committee of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In their speeches, they highlighted the importance of supporting the scientific community, promoting healthy lifestyles, and fostering the development of a healthy, educated, and well-rounded younger generation.
The program included a wide range of sports competitions, traditional games, and intellectual contests for men, women, and children. One of the most memorable parts of the event was the family fun competitions, where parents and children participated together, demonstrating unity, cooperation, and team spirit.
At the conclusion of the event, winners and prize recipients were awarded diplomas, commemorative gifts, and incentive prizes.
Participants highly appreciated the initiative, noting that such events contribute to strengthening cooperation among scientific institutions, promoting corporate culture, and encouraging a healthy lifestyle within the academic community.
