Eriobotrya japonica (Latin: Eriobotrya japonica) is a small evergreen tree or shrub in the subfamily Rosaceae. Decorative and fruit plant. It is used in landscape design in open ground, but is also cultivated as a room plant on balconies, terraces, verandahs, patios, and so on. Cultivated forms exist in the form of many varieties: Champagne, Tanaka, Thales, and others. Mulberry is the only fruit plant of the subtropics that blooms in autumn and ripens in the winter-spring period, making it the most valuable and, in fact, the only fresh source of vitamins during the period of spring avitaminosis.
