Participation in the Conference “Modern Problems of Agricultural Science, Environment, and Food Safety”, held on June 3–4, 2025, in Baku at the Research Institute of Vegetable-Growing of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan

     Staff members of the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Botanical Garden named after Academician F.N. Rusanov of the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan — PhD in Biology F.U. Mustafina, Kh.K. Juraeva, and V.U. Akhmedova — took part in the International Scientific-Practical Conference “Modern Problems of Agricultural Science, Environment, and Food Safety”, held on June 3–4, 2025, in Baku at the Research Institute of Vegetable-Growing of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, by invitation of the Institute’s Director, Mr. Elmar Ilham oglu Allahverdiyev.

The conference featured presentations on the results of the innovative project IL 8624042533 “Obtaining Biologically Active Compounds from in vitro Tissue Culture and Regenerated Plants of Ungernia victoris Vved. ex Artjush. for Pharmaceutical Applications” (implementation period: 2025–2026), as well as on scientific studies conducted under the state program “Creation and Digital Documentation of the in vitro Collection of the Tashkent Botanical Garden Using Innovative Biotechnological Methods” (implementation period: 2025–2029).

Presentations were delivered by Head of the Laboratory, PhD in Biology F.U. Mustafina, and Junior Researchers Kh.K. Juraeva and V.U. Akhmedova.

As part of the conference program, a short-term training course (internship) was also organized on the study of plant genetic resources and their sustainable use to ensure food security, as well as on the activities of several laboratories of the Research Institute of Vegetable-Growing. During the internship, participants were introduced to the work of the Seed Production Center, the Agro-Technology Laboratory, the Agro-Biotechnology Laboratory, the Functional Analysis Laboratory, and the Environmental Laboratory.

In addition, the laboratory staff visited the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the Central Botanical Garden under the Baku City Administration. During the visits, opportunities for scientific and educational cooperation were discussed.
