11th International Congress on Education in Botanical Gardens (ICEBG) - Seoul, South Korea

  The 11th International Congress on Education in Botanical Gardens (ICEBG) is taking place in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, from June 9-13, 2025. The congress is organized by the Korea National Arborotong (KNA) and is attended by directors of leading botanical gardens, scientists, researchers, and representatives of international organizations from around the world.

S.Kh. Abdinazarov, Director of the Tashkent Botanical Garden named after Academician F.N. Rusanov at the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and E.E. Temirov, Head of the Dendrology Laboratory, are participating in the congress on behalf of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of this international forum, Korea and the four Central Asian states - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan - are entering a new stage of strategic partnership. The main objectives of the Congress are:

Main goals:

Official launch of the 3rd stage of the "Green Road of Central Asia" project and the establishment of in-depth scientific study of resource plant species specific to the region.

Development of educational and practical programs on biodiversity in botanical gardens, wide involvement of society through arboretums and scientific expositions, and strengthening of eco-educational activities.

Strengthening cooperation within the CABCN (Central Asia Botanical Garden Collaborative Network), capacity building, expansion of scientific information exchange and joint research.

Identification and discussion of target species for joint research on resource plants in Central Asia, determining their significance in preserving the regional ecosystem and biodiversity.

The Congress continues its work and serves as an important platform for international scientific cooperation.
